ANIMALS
1.Animals hide from the sun in the plants and the plants take the sunlight in to have photosynthesis.(found on desertusa.com/survive)
2. The animals use the water from the plants seeds and many other ways.(found on desertusa.com/survive)
3. Desert animals, like desert plants, have adapted in very special ways to live in this hot, dry environment. When finding water is a problem, many animals develop ways of living to help them use less water.( found on desertusa.com/survive)
4.One way to save water is to stay as cool as possible. When people get too hot their bodies start to sweat. This water, coming from small pores in the skin, helps to cool the skin and keeps the body temperature from getting too high. Although most desert animals don't sweat, the same type of cooling happens when an animal pants. The body can lose a lot of water under the desert sun. ( found on desertusa.com/survive)

PLANT"S
1.Plants have to suck water up through there roots (found on desertusa.com/survive)
2.Desert plants have adapted to the extremes of heat and aridity by using both physical and behavioral mechanisms, much like desert animals. The ingenuity and variety of these many adaptations are explored in
Desert Plant Survival and the Desert Food Chain.(found on desertusa.com)
3.Plants that have adapted by altering their physical structure are called xerophytes. Xerophytes, such as cacti, usually have special means of storing and conserving water. They often have few or no leaves, which reduces transpiration.( found on desertusa.com)
4.Some plant's grow really long roots to reach the water in the ground. ( found on desertusa.com)

Climate
1.Dry Desert climates are formed by high-pressure zones in which cold air descends. Then the descending air becomes warm but, instead of releasing rain, the heat from the ground evaporates the water before it can come down as rain. (found on blueplanetbiomes.org)
2.The ground is super hot because the sun's rays beat down on it directly overhead. Not a lot of atmosphere to protect it from radiant energy. ( found on blueplanetbiomes.org)
3.Approximately 1 in. (.25 cm) of rain falls in dry deserts per year..( found on blueplanetbiomes.org)
4.The average annual temperature of these miles of hot sand is 64° F.( found on blueplanetbiomes.org)
